Partial clearing of skies prior to the frontal arrival resulted in moderate destabilization. Climatologically, February is cooler, which increases confidence in very cold air aloft. The lift from the front, an unstable environment, and cold air aloft raised a primary concern for large hail. Elevated MUCAPE values (up to 1500 J/kg) and steep lapse rates resulted in hail up to golf ball size to occur.",
